Many are the times when you probably did a double take to check out a man or woman. And the item that probably caught your fancy is a belt. Though there are other accessories that are just as big an attraction including jewellery, shoes and watches it is a belt that stands out. These days more than a functional accessory the belt is a style statement. Modern trendy belts have made this phenomenon more noticeable.
Chances are you will find plenty of people around you who would have spent a huge wad of cash to buy the bling belt or a lizard skin or ostrich belt. Before you decide to follow suit ask yourself just where you plan to wear it. Fancy belts look good on a pair of jeans, skirts and dresses but do not make the hideous blunder of teaming fancy belts on a formal trouser. A slender belt looks good on a trouser if you are a female but not much on a male.
While buying a belt follow the basic rule of thumb. Buy a belt that is two inches bigger than your waist line or the circumference of your pant. Belts are an accessory not the centerpiece of your wardrobe so do not get conned into buying a belt that’s more expensive than your shoes. Match the belt to your outfit. Trendy fashion belts are available in any of the stores and most malls these days do have a good belt rack.
